Description
The Palace of Vrana (aka "Vranya") is a royal palace with park, located 11 km east of the center of Sofia.Before the liberation of Bulgaria Vrana was a farm of Osman Pasha. In 1898 Knyaz Ferdinand I bought it for 600 gold levs. The Knyaz was an amateur ornithologist, and decided to call the farm after the first bird perched on the roof. It was flock of crows, hence the name of the property origin.The Park "Vrana" and his palace in its artistic completion is recorded as a masterpiece in the Bulgarian landscape art and landscape architecture. Here you can see over 400 species of plants.
